Jamaican Style Cabbage


  • 1 medium-sized green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium-sized carrot, grated
  • 2 teaspoons Jamaican jerk seasoning (adjust to your spice preference)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons C & X Brand Sweet & Hot Sauce
  • Fresh thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)


  1. Prepare the Cabbage: Cut the cabbage in half and remove the core. Thinly slice the cabbage leaves and set them aside.
  2. Sauté the Onions and Garlic: In a large skillet or pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions become translucent and fragrant.
  3. Add Bell Peppers and Carrot: Add the thinly sliced red and green bell peppers along with the grated carrot to the skillet. Continue to sauté for a few more minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
  4. Season with Jerk Seasoning: Sprinkle the Jamaican jerk seasoning over the sautéed vegetables. Adjust the amount to your preferred level of spiciness. Stir to evenly coat the vegetables with the seasoning.
  5. Incorporate the Cabbage: Add the thinly sliced cabbage to the skillet. Toss everything together to combine.
  6. Sauté and Steam: Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet with a lid. Let the cabbage cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it starts to wilt and become tender.
  7. Add C & X Brand Sweet & Hot Sauce: Drizzle the C & X Brand Sweet & Hot Sauce over the cabbage. Stir well to incorporate the sauce, coating the cabbage and vegetables evenly.
  8. Season and Garnish: Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If desired, garnish with fresh thyme leaves for added flavor and presentation.
